Sr. Computer Systems Engineer - TRI COUNTIES BANK (Chico, CA) in Chico, California For Sale
Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. Ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values. Provides leadership and guidance to members of the system engineering and technology teams. Ensures the operations of all managed systems are secure, stable, and efficient while maintaining system integrity. Provides an interface to various vendors for support and service.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages design, implementation, and support of the Bank’s enterprise computer systems. Ensures and maintains the security, stability, integrity and efficiency of its infrastructure, topology and resources.
Develop the tools and processes to maintain stability and performance of our internal infrastructure.
Design, scale and manage our on-premise and cloud based infrastructure.
Manages design, implementation and support of server hardware and software – including OS and core applications.
Evaluates new computer systems, services and applications and deploys as necessary to ensure Bank’s systems are aligned with organizational and other required goals and objectives.
Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
Strong command on system administration concepts and software development processes.
Experience in software development methodologies and structured approaches to system development.
Adhere to sound practices and maintain Information Security standards for securing Bank hardware and software systems.
Designs, implements and maintains access security and computer policy enforcement of end user access to Bank’s computer data.
Manages design and implementation of more efficient computer systems disaster/recovery solutions.
Manages implementation and ongoing maintenance of Antivirus systems and security patches on all servers and desktop computers.
Analyzes new PC/Server hardware and software and makes change recommendations as necessary.
Manages the testing and installation of new software for all Windows (other) Servers
Develops standards for Windows systems applications and access architecture.
Adhere to Bank established patch management procedures to securely maintain systems.
Knowledge and understanding of network security
Provides backup and high-level support to users and other technical staff.
Maintains documentation related to all job function(s) for training or problem resolution purposes.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Adheres to Bank policy and procedures and complies with confidentiality regulations including Gramm-Leach Bliley Act principles by successfully completing related trainings and maintaining these learned practices on the job.
Support the Bank’s efforts and follow best practices to prevent network and system security vulnerabilities, such as spyware and computer viruses.
Maintains documentation for incoming work orders as assigned.
Create flowcharts, diagrams, and other documentation.
Assists Network Administrator and Information Security Team as needed.
Participates as a member of the Disaster Recovery Team.
Work with customers via telephone, email, VPN and remote web meeting, in conjunction with
employing all available technical resources internally and externally, to bring issues to a timely resolution.
Provides after hour on-call support for computer systems issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED
High school diploma or GED required.
Possess extensive knowledge of Server hardware and software applications and Network operating systems.
Minimum 5 yrs experience and certification demonstrating competency in systems engineering (e.g. MCSE or COMP)
Experience in overseeing the design, development and implementation of software systems, applications and related products.
Working technical knowledge of current software protocols and Internet standards.
Extensive experience with core software applications, including Microsoft operating systems, back office applications and productivity software.
Extensive application support experience.
Experience with administering and deploying Windows servers
Experience with administering and deploying Linux servers
Experience with administering and deploying Citrix
Extensive hardware and software troubleshooting experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
Strong customer service orientation.
Maintain certification(s) by standard operating system provider as needed.
