THE RUNDOWN
As the Global Product Line Merchant of Men s Training you will develop, and execute a product strategy to position Oakley apparel and accessories with-in the training marketplace. In addition, you will act as the consumer product expert for key product classifications. You will create and translate valuable consumer insights and opportunities from all Oakley regions in order to build out a range plan to support your seasonal revenue goals.
THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Design / Development / Materials / Trims / Sourcing
Sales / Regional Brand Managers
Marketing / Sports & Entertainment Marketing / Go-To-Market
Analysis: Aggregate and analyze financial history to build a firm foundation for the men s inline architecture.
Line Plan / Brief: Create line plan & brief for 2 seasonal collections yearly. Brief to include product direction, price-points, financial targets by style, margin, segmentation strategy and assortment direction
Marketplace: Must have in-depth current market knowledge of the Men s Training Category to include trends, innovation, competitor products, and consumer.
Calendar: Manage over-all product creation process from inception to production and ensure all key product creation gates/dates are met.
Communication: You are the communication connection between all cross-functional teams. Clear and detailed communication is the key to success as a product manager.
Product: Collaborate with designers and development in reviewing prototypes, and submits for approval for all categories from design concept to production.
Systems Management: Ensure all systems (M1 Oakley s PLM System) is up to date with current product information this is crucial for all cross-functional teams to be successful. Information accuracy is key.
Regional / Sales: Work closely with Regional PLM team to ensure needs of the global market are met and ensure the Men s Training apparel & accessories business is achieving the brand goals
THE QUALIFIERS
Bachelor s degree in business, merchandising, marketing or related field.
Minimum of 5 years product merchandising experience.
Develops a product strategy that is consistent with the Oakley Brand DNA
Knowledge of product development calendar, timelines and deliverables
Must be able to multi task and work in fast paced environment
Must be proactive with a solution/result oriented attitude
Must have excellent verbal and written communication and follow through skills
Must be highly organized and detailed oriented
Must be proficient in the following computer programs Adobe Illustrator, Word, and Excel, power-point
Experience in the following area is preferred: Men s athletic training
