Upp is now seeking a Technical Analyst-Senior
Responsibilities
Perform data analysis and QA/QC for the Big Data engineering group against Hadoop hosted data sets
Support other data analysts using our platform with questions about data, the Big Data platform, how to use it, etc.
Triage and escalate any issues with the platform to appropriate groups or vendors.
Gather requirements and use cases recognize patterns, raise them as feature requests and assist with roadmap planning for the Big Data platform and hosted applications.
Qualifications:
Strong quantitative and analytical abilities, with deep understanding of data warehousing and ETL processing in both traditional relational databases and Hadoop
Strong knowledge of SQL, experience with Hive and Pig a plus
Strong collaboration, teaming, negotiation and persuasive skills
Excellent communication (oral, written and presentation) and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate and evangelize the merits of our products and business
Highly organized with a “Can do” attitude; be able to work effectively under tight deadlines
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills are required
Ability to work independently with little to no supervision within a fast paced, dynamic environment
Ability to communicate data and ideas effectively with PowerPoint
Ability to document requirement from business into BRD, Technical Specifications and Data Dictionaries
Intermediate skills level in Excel/Work; must be familiar with building and using pivot tables
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited and recognized institution of higher learning is required.
4 plus years of prior work experience within the software industry is required
