Twiggy?s story is a difficult one to tell. She was brought to the Chico Cat Coalition shelter as a kitten after being rescued from Bidwell Park, and quickly adopted out approximately seven years ago.
We were surprised to receive a call from Twiggy?s owner six months ago. Twiggy had developed an eye condition called entropion, a genetic condition where a portion of the eyelid is inverted or folded inward against the eyeball. This results in scratches on the cornea, pain, and potential loss of vision. Twiggy?s owner was not able to afford the surgery needed to cure the condition. Sadly, Twiggy had suffered for quite some time with this condition.
Happily, Twiggy received the treatment that she needed, and is once again up for adoption through the Chico Cat Coalition. Twiggy is used to being the only cat in her household, and would be happiest in a home with no other cats. Her adoption fee is $45; she is healthy, spayed, and very loving!
